4th Team Averages

All 5 senior male teams averages are now available on the site. If Tim or anyone else has the Ladies teams averages i will post them if you email them to me or give them to me on Friday night at the dinner.

Dear All Who Will Be Attending,

Due to Big Ern being a cock last night and insisting that he will not be wearing collar and tie, i thought that i ought to let everyone know that you are expected to be dressed in collar and tie. Obviously, we cannot enforce that you do so, but out of respect for your fellow guests i reccommend that you make an effort.

Poker League

The league is hotting up. Bryan secured his 4th consecutive win and Jock finished 2nd putting pressure on top man Baz who struggled and finished 6th. Boycs' new tactics were no better than before, finishing in a pathetic 5th place. Rog slips down a place in the league after finishing in 4th place for a change! The ABCC Poker League continues tonight. Following last weeks abysmal performance Boycs has announced that he has yet another new set of tactics that are going to "amaze us all" apparently. He did this by sending us all a text message at 6:20 this morning. Quite frankly, i'm sh*tting it.

Baz remains top of the league by some margin but his trip to Sri Lanka in December will rule him out for 3 or 4 weeks so his lead could easily be cut down by Jock, Big Ern or Smelly.

Results and League table will be posted in the morning, so you can check out just how successful Boycs' amazing new tactics were.

Don't forget the ABCC tradition of pints of Diesel on friday night. If you are unaware of the tradition then you need to start getting involved. Diesel (or Snakebite 'n' black, as it is reffered to by idiots) is a combination of lager, cider and blackcurrant and should be drunk in very large quantities. Enjoy Irresponsibly!

The Cricket Club's AGM is to be held at the clubhouse on Tuesday 6th November at 8pm. For anyone who hasn't been or is unaware of what is involved, this is the evening where all positions (captains, chairmen of sub-committee's etc.) are elected. If anyone wishes to stand for a position it is important that you let people know prior to the meeting in order to be proposed and seconded etc.

ABCC will be supporting the Astwood Bank Carnival Committee's Firework Night at SE Davis this year by providing volunteers to help on the night. The Firework's Night is on 3rd November this year the night after the annual dinner. If you can provide any help on that night then please step forward and volunteer. We need 6 helpers in total. All that is involved is collecting entrance money. I did it a couple of years ago and there's nothing to it. I will also be doing it this year. Please help out as this will help to secure funding from the Carnival Committee.

60 Seconds With...
Poker League

Thank you to all who have responded with their menu choices so far. There are still a lot of people who are yet to confirm their choices. I will try to contact the remaining people before Friday.

Anyone wishing to go to the dinner who has not let me know yet must do so as soon as possible as there are only 6 spaces left.

I will also be working on the seating plan next week, so if you have any preferences please let me know. Don't go crying if you aren't sitting on the table you want to be on if you haven't let me know. I'm not a mind reader.

Sorry to anyone who voted against the new design but it is staying. The vote ended 12 to 7 in favour of the new design.

Spaces at the club dinner are now running out. Anyone who has not made me or Brindy aware of their intentions to go are leaving it a bit late. Please let us know asap if you want to go.

The main thing that i have not been receiving from many people is their actual food order. Vegetable Lasagne anyone? You do have until the 26th (at the very, very latest!) to get this to me but i would prefer it to be earlier if poss. Can you get in touch with me rather than the other way round because i don't want to have to call 60 odd people and i'm not made of money.

Let's hope we dont need a diamond cutter for this years roasties!

The Astwood Bank Cricket Club annual dinner is to be held at the White Lion Function Room Astwood Bank on the 2nd November at 7.30pm, after the Dinner and Awards there will be a Disco until the early hours. Tickets are priced at £15 per head there are no concession prices for juniors. The choices for the meal are as follows:-
