Easyfundraising
As most of you are aware, we have been using easyfundraising for just over a year now. To date we have raised £123.13 so far, which is an excellent achievement.
I have been on today and noticed that there is an easy way for people to raise £1 each without spending a single penny:
- Use the link to get to our easyfundraising page
- Sign in or Register (if you havent already)
- Click on the FREE FUNDS tab in the top right hand corner of the page
- Register with Coke Zone, Glasses Direct, FT.com, MyPixmania and TescoFashion
If you are worried about receiving spam emails, then just create a hotmail account that you dont need and use that instead of your normal one.

Sunday 1st XI Captaincy
As you all may or not be aware Stefan Jagielski resigned as Sunday 1st Team captain a few weeks ago. This has left us with an open Captains position currently for the last couple of games Andrzej Jagielski has kindly attended selection and Johno Gordon has captained the side on the day. Johno Gordon has put his name forward to continue as Captain on a full time basis. Before the playing committee agree to this we would like to offer the Captaincy to all members so if any one has an interest in taking on the role of Sunday 1st Team captain can they inform Mark Brind or Dan Evans before Friday 6th of June.
Annual Dinner
We are now in the process of deciding the venue for this years annual club dinner.
The three options are:
The three options are:
- The White Lion, Astwood Bank, which is where it was held last year. This will cost around £15 per person.
- The Moat House, Alcester, which is where we had held the annual dinner for the previous god knows how many years. This venue will cost around £25 per person.
- Redditch Golf Club, Callow Hill, we have never hosted an event here but there should be no doubts about the quality of food or facilities. Approximately £18 per person.

Junior Presentation Evening
The junior end of season awards evening is now booked for Sunday 14th September. This event will be pretty much the same as last years event which was a huge success. There was a large marquee where the presentations were made along with bouncy castles and various other fun activities to keep the young 'uns entertained.
Golf Day
The 2008 ABCC golf day will be held on either Wednesday 10th September or Wednesday 17th September at the Abbey Park Golf Course in Redditch. Last years event was a huge success and helped to raise a lot of money for the cricket club. Hopefully this years event can be even bigger and better than last year.
Anyone interested in entering a team (four players) should contact Andy Thomas. If you contact me (Pete Alexander) at jock333@hotmail.com then i will pass on his contact information to you.

New Kit Order

As lots have people have asked if they can order kit, I will order more kit if people want it. I am happy to collate another order before 31/5/08 if people are interested. However, i have minimum order requirements that i need to meet to be able to make the order so if i dont have enough interest then i will cancel. The order will also take quite a few weeks to arrive so dont expect it to turn up before the end of July.
I have added another item to the kit list also.

Kit Collection
I am driving over to Kidderminster for 6 o'clock to pick up the kit from the embroiderers. They think that they will have everything done by then. I will then be going straight to the club to distribute the kit to whoever has ordered it. (No hoodies though).

Website Update
I have made one or two changes to the drop down menu bar at the top of the site. If you don't get the drop down menu then the only thing that is different is ABCCTV has been moved and replaced with the ABCC Darts League.
If you do get the drop down menu's then i have shuffled things around a bit to hopefully make things a little more more organised.

Kit Shambles
The embroiderers have now said that the kit will either be ready on friday evening or saturday morning for collection. I have asked them to sort it out for friday so that i can get it distributed at training tomorrow night. Fingers crossed they'll get it done.
U11's tomorrow evening, you will have the pleasure of Tom Harris as your coach for the evening if the kit arrives as i will probably have to spend a while sorting the kit out.

Injury Doubts
The Bank suffered two key injuries in last nights match against Redditch. Big Ern, strained his hamstring and looks doubtful for the weekend. Statto twisted his ankle in a hole by the sight screen and looks as though he may have torn ligaments in his ankle, which could rule him out for up to 6-8 weeks. I have heard from him this morning and he says that the swelling has gone down and that it may not be as bad as first feared.
League Knockout Cup
The league knockout cup begins this week for the Bank. The firsts, who were crowned champions in 2005, travel to Avoncroft on tuesday. The seconds host Redditch on Wednesday evening. Matches consist of 16 overs (8 balls per over) and generally tend to be a bit of a slogathon, so if anyone fancies coming to watch, the games are usually fairly entertaining.

ABCC Stunned by Bretforton
Once again we have failed to make it past the first hurdle of the NVKO. Faced with the prospect of a match against our local rivals Feckenham in the next round, the Bank were keen to progress. However, Bretforton had other ideas and after a poor batting display from both sides in difficult conditions the home side came out on top. The Bank who bowled and fielded superbly only had themselves to blame for scoring 20-30 runs too few.

Kit Embroidery
I have now delivered all of the kit (except hoodies) to the embroiderers. They are aiming to have everything ready for Friday 9th May. I probably wont be around on Friday until late afternoon so hopefully my mum will be able to go over to pick everything up if it is finished by then. I will then make myself available at the club on Friday and Saturday to distribute kit.
Junior Practice
This weeks junior practice will take place at the Ridgeway. We will be using the playground as it is obviously too wet to train on grass. Training will commence at 6:30 as per usual. If you are going to the Ridgeway tomorrow night, can you ensure that you don't park your car on the playground.
The little 'uns have been cancelled. Mike will be at the club to let everyone know that it is off but if you do read this message and can let others know then please do so.

The kit has now arrived, except for the hoodies. I have all playing shirts, training shirts, tracksuit bottoms, baseball caps and playing fleeces. All fleeces and baseball caps plus 6 pairs of tracksuit bottoms are currently with the embroiderers. The rest will be going to the embroiderers tomorrow.
If you are really lucky, i may treat you all to a photo of me modelling some of the stuff again.
