League Record
Shahid of Eastnor took what i can only assume to be a league record when bowling against Netherton on Saturday. He claimed all 10 wickets for just 33 runs in what must have been a spectacular spell of bowling. Well done to Shahid and good luck to Eastnor next weekend when they take on Pershore looking to secure the title.

Comments
Please can people be careful of what they leave in comments in future as it has been brought to my attention that there have been complaints made to the league about an inappropriate comment.
There's not a fat lot that i can do about people making comments but we don't really want the league on our backs at this stage of the season if we can avoid it.
Cheers
Jock

ABCC Ladies beat Redditch
Shock, and amazement, Astwood Bank actually beat Reddicth in a game of cricket, as the ladies eased to a comfortable six wicket win.
Redditch won the toss and batted first against an under-strength bank bowling line-up. After a slow start against Lucy and Clare, Reddicth's opener (who's name escapes me) started to hit out against the slower pace of Amber and Jordan. Astwood Bank due to Jenni and Laura being on holiday, had to find a 5th bowler from somewhere, so well done to Pippa and Sophie who agreed to bowl the last few overs. Redditch ended on 140 all out off the last ball of the innings. Sophie Kearns taking 2 wickets.
After a nice tea Clare and Lucy opened the batting for the Bank and made steady start against some very slow dobblers. Lucy was bowled for 8 by the slowest, loopiest bowler of all time, bringing Pippa to the wicket. She played a few decent sweeps before being bowled, leaving one from the left arm pace girl. Clare who was batting well and sensibly then put on a good partnership with Camber Apewell, to put the game out of Redditch's reach. Amber was then dismissed by a good catch at mid on, bringing Leah to the wicket, who looked very solid and didn't really look like getting out. However she did, then it was left to Clare and Bethan to knock off the remaining runs. Clare ending on 74*.
Thank you to Leah's dad who umpired (and Ashley) and Felicity Melley who scored the match.
So, all in all a goodish season for the bank Ladies with 3 wins and 4 defeats, finishing mid-table in the league.
Clare and Boycs.

Good News, Help Required and Housekeeping
Good News
The nets project is now under-way. The two trees in the corner have been cut down. Verde will start on September 1st for around three weeks. In parallel Phil Day will level the outfield and put in the ring-drain round the square.
Help Required
The old concrete bases need to be broken up and put into bags for Davis for take away. Can you please email me at ja@his.co.uk if you can help with that next Wednesday (27th) or Thursday (28th) evening. I think the senior players should step up to the plate on this one.
Housekeeping
At last week's Committee meeting there was general dismay at the state the Clubhouse gets left in at the weekend. Tidying-up etc.. is being left to the willing few. Can I request politely that everybody try to make a bit more of an effort to keep the clubhouse tidier.
As ever,
JA

Fantasy Football
Well done to Big Ern who leads the Fantasy Football League after week 1 of the Premier League season. He sits just 2 points clear of Jock who is in 2nd position. Propping up the table is Harry Prew who is a long way behind the rest of the field.
It's early doors yet and i'm sure those people who have had a poor start will have plenty of time to catch up the rest of the pack.

Site Re-jig
As you have probably noticed i have given the site a little bit of a revamp. There is nothing majorly different about the site but it is hopefully easier now to navigate for those who don't have the drop down's.
If anyone has anything that they would like to see on the site, then please let me know as i am often looking for ways to make it more interesting for you lot. If you haven't already done so, then you could complete your player profile by clicking on the appropriate link.
Cheers

Under 16's
The match that was scheduled for Tuesday evening has now been moved to Wednesday evening instead. Myself and Andy Thomas will be there to help out on the evening and Dan Taylor should be contacting you individually to confirm the details. See you Wednesday.
Senior Net Session
We are having a net session on Thursday night this week at the club, led by Richard Hadley, due to the fact that no training was possible tonight and our first team are rubbish!! Thought it would be a good idea as we are so close to relegation, although I'm sure most people will turn up severely hungover after Robbo's wedding do anyway! Training from 6.00pm onwards with Richard Hadley on Thursday 7th August.
